Dorchester, NH, Furnished, Private Bedroom in Shared Farmhouse

The Green Room is a cozy, private room on the second floor of a communal house, with a spacious full bed and high ceilings. We are located in Dorchester, NH, about 45 minutes from Dartmouth Hitchcock. As a working farm, the main house can see a lot of traffic. Hostel/camping guests will be coming and going, and the other rooms on the 2nd floor will be available for short-term stays. While we respect individuals’ privacy, there will be ample opportunity to meet new people, share a meal, or converse by the fire. We would expect a renter to keep their space tidy, as well as clean up after themselves when using the bathroom, kitchen, or other communal areas. Interested renters will need to meet with staff either in person or over zoom before making a decision on a rental agreement.

Room Includes: Heat, wifi, and electricity are included in cost.

Bathroom: Shared bathroom across the hall and on the 1st floor. Showers are token-based, the cost of which is included in the rent. There is a washer and dryer located on the 1st floor. Washing machine is $3/load, dryer is $3/load. We also have drying racks available for use.

Kitchen: There is a commercial kitchen with gas appliances available for communal use on the 1st floor, as well as a refrigerator. If necessary, there is a freezer located in the garage.

Communal space: The downstairs of the main building includes a large living room area with wood-stove, as well as an attached solarium. There is also a small library. Residents are welcome to hang out in those areas. The doors to the main house are never locked, and you can come and go as you please. There are 2 full-time staff on site, and a solid community of 7 other long-term renters on the property.

Swimming ponds, gardens, and trails galore: Streeter Mountain Farm is a retreat destination for mountain biking, skiing, and hiking. Check Trail Forks or All Trails app for trail information. Guests are encouraged to recreate and restore amidst the natural beauty of our rural property, explore our orchards and vegetable gardens.
This is a working farm so, even in the off-season, we are often busy. However we love meeting new people and answering questions about permaculture, sustainability and farming where we can.
